Open, generous floor plans are a hallmark of modern architecture, as they create a feeling of spaciousness and allow natural light to flood the interior. Warm timber tones add a sense of cosiness and, when paired with bright, welcoming surfaces, create a balanced atmosphere. Black is often used for stylish contrasts, subtly lending structure and setting striking accents.

Another defining feature of contemporary residential architecture is the principle of flush surfaces. Smooth, continuous surfaces without visible transitions or interruptions embody the demand for reduction and minimalism. This is especially evident in doors: set flush into the wall, they blend seamlessly with their surroundings, creating a harmonious overall impression – as if cast from a single mould.

The fact that TECTUS hinge systems meet the exacting demands of contemporary architecture is beautifully demonstrated in a newly designed residential building. Simple white doors here were fitted with premium hinges made of durable stainless steel and, when closed, are visible only as a subtle relief – creating a flush, harmonious overall effect. They emphasise the clear, reduced character of the house while at the same time ensuring effortless opening and closing.

Premium materials, refined surfaces, natural timber elements and carefully positioned black accents complete the design concept, lending a timeless elegance to the interior rooms.
